Note: The Michigan Department of Environmental Equality [MDEQ] did award this Clean Michigan Initiative Waterfront Redevelopment Lighthouse grant to subrecipient GLSHS despite documented GLSHS discrimination and misuse of grant funds.

MDEQ never responded to the 2004 complaint that GLSHS pumped sump water on fragile dunes at Whitefish Point.

By January 2008, GLSHS was still trying to prevent watchdog access to Whitefish Point and still had not complied with accessibility statutes at Whitefish Point.
